Ormond Beach, Florida: River Grille on the Tomoka

Ormond Beach is a small beach town located near Daytona Beach, Florida.  In addition to the beautiful Florida beaches, the area has a river called the Tomoka which offers great opportunities for fishing and boating. A restaurant called River Grille is also situated on the banks of the Tomoka River on 950 North U.S. #1.  If you savor seafood and a casual atmosphere, River Grille is for you.

Upon walking into the lobby, this massive but friendly reptile graciously greets all guests!

Our party decides to eat inside since it still warm and muggy for outdoor dining.  Nikki, our server, is expedient in taking our order. While we wait for our dinner to come out, I explore the outside restaurant seating.

River Grille's menu includes appetizers, garden salads, fish of all kinds, fried seafood, sandwiches, and soups.  There is also a children's menu and the section is entitled "Lil' River Rats" which includes Popcorn Shrimp, Chicken Fingers, Swamp Dogs, Tomahawk Burger, Pasta and Grilled Cheese.

I could not resist ordering the hush puppies.
